Matt's birthday
Happy birthday Matt! Matt loves coffee so I decided to make him a cup of coffee. Not my best effort, but the cake itself was good, banana with mocha frosting.
We had the cousins over for dinner so the cup was not going to be big enough, enter the Homer Simpson donut. Sydney decided on the wording for the cake.

We love birthday's! Blowing out candles is always a high point!

Fathers Day takes the cake
Looks good doesn't it. A nice hot plate of thin and crispy freedom fries.
A huge tray of sliders with ketchup, mustard and lettuce.
YUMMY!
Jordan is sharing with Grandpa.
Liel is my best customer. She LOVED it.
Looks good!

Camping out
When you live in south Florida and the average temperature is one hundred in the shade, you learn to embrace the cold weather, the three days a year we have it! It is not really cold if you are from Maine or New York but when you are born and bread in Florida it is down right chilly.
It is so chilly in fact that my husband was inspired to take the girls camping tonight! He did not go far, they are sleeping in the backyard but they are camping out in a tent complete with sleeping bags and flashlights.
We started off the evening with our usual Friday night Shabbot dinner but instead of heading off to the bathtub after dinner we headed off to the backyard where we searched for firewood,
started a fire
and made s'mores.
We even sang a few campfire songs!
After our very sticky campfire the girls came inside to get into their very cozy PJ's,
to brush their chocolate and marshmallow covered teeth, and to gather up some books for the night. There they sat reading book after book,
hoping that the girls would calm down long enough to pass out cold.
That is where I checked out because my Floridian husband is under the impression that it is far too cold for Akiva to sleep outside
and because I like my bed and my pillows I did not disagree. If truth be told it is probably warmer in the tent than in our bedroom so Matt must be very comfortable right now.
After about ten books, the troops came in for a potty break and Jordan came in for good. Our little Minnie likes her Minnie bed. I think she was having a hard time calming down, maybe next time and I think there will be a next time!
Meanwhile everyone is sound asleep and I am enjoying some peace and quite, until someone needs to come inside to pee.

Matt & Minnie
Matt went to Philadelphia for his brother Mark's wedding earlier this month. He left me home with the four kids, it was a good thing Tanya was here with her kids or I would have been all alone all weekend long.
While he was packing Friday morning Lior walked over to his suitcase and put in a teddy bear. When Matt told her he was taking it with him she quickly withdrew the offer. That is when Matt took all three girls into "baby jail" and picked out a doll that he could take with him. They chose Minnie because we have at least two of them. Matt spent the rest of his trip taking photos of Minnie and sending them to me via the i-phone so they could keep up with his trip.
Minnie's plane.
The view from her hotel room.
The shower she could not stop raving about.
The frog she tried to kiss, but decided that he was no Mickey Mouse.
Minnie and Matt dressed up and ready to party at the wedding.
Minnie and Uncle Mark getting ready to take the plunge.
Matt, Minnie and Uncle Mike getting ready to walk down the aisle.
And of course Minnie could not rest until she got a photo with the bride and groom.
There are plenty of other pictures from Matt and Minnie. They ate cookies, played in the park, got a haircut, and danced with a few unsuspecting wedding guests. The kids absolutely loved it. They could not wait for them to come home. Jordan still comes up to me and asks me t show her pictures of Minnie.

My hero
Matt is my hero! Today while I was doing laundry the dryer died! Mid load it just stopped working. The towels were still wet and there was a load in the washing machine. So I did what every smart woman would do, I went shopping with four tired and cranky kids in tow (but that is another story). While I was shopping I kept thinking about how the laundry would pile up all week and I wondered how much underwear we had. Could we make it a full week without doing laundry? Sadly, the answer to that question is no!
It is a holiday weekend, when would the service people be able to come? The idea of being tied to the house for the day was enough to drive me to drink!
I decided to bring the wet clothes to my mom's house to be dried. While they were there to be dried they were miraculously folded by my sister-in-law Tanya, who could not get over how cute (and little) their clothes were. While she was folding Matt was fixing our dryer! He actually fixed the dryer. He is just amazing and wonderful because now we will all have clean underwear!

Another birthday...
Happy birthday Matt! This years cake was inspired by Matt's infatuation with our swimming pool. It seemed as if he was not dumping it and refilling it on a weekly basis then he was talking about dumping and refilling it. All of his talk and our million dollar water bill has resulted in an almost perfect swimming pool and the theme for this years cake.
This cake marks the first time I used fondant, it was no that hard to use but it does not taste good. The kids loved the cake and once they realized the people on the cake were our family they were over the moon and dying to taste themselves!
Now they can not wait for their princess cake and their birthday party on Sunday.
