Party time again

The girls have been going to a a drop off art class all summer. I should say that Sydney and Lior have been going, the teacher has been allowing Jordan to stay, even though she is not three- yet. It has made Jordan feel like a million bucks and me a little sad because I miss hanging out with her. Well we celebrated the girls birthday with cupcakes and tuns of junk food. FUN FUN FUN!

Does it look like Lior is flipping me off here? I thought this would happen when she was fourteen not four!

Party time!

We had the girls fourth birthday party at The Little Gym and they had a blast. It was the best birthday party because I did not have to do a thing but show up with the cake.

They started out on the "Big Red Mat", where Jordan and Akiva joined the festivities.

Sydney walked the beam with ease.


And of course little Miss Jordan did the same.

Lior got a lift from her dad.
The kids had a blast jumping on the air track.


The cousins had fun, sitting around with their friends and cuddling the girls (and Akiva too!)
Look at those two! I remember when they could not hold up their own heads! Now they are almost doing cartwheels and head stands!

One day I would like all of them to look at me, maybe that will be my birthday wish along with a camera that takes a decent picture!
At the end of the party the kids were called up and they were supposed to run up to the cheese mat and slam it really hard with their bodies and land on it. You can see Lior managed to knock it over but did not land on it.


The cake was a huge hit and I had a great time making it and the sugar cookies which I forgot to take a picture of, oh well!

Matt's birthday

Happy birthday Matt! Matt loves coffee so I decided to make him a cup of coffee. Not my best effort, but the cake itself was good, banana with mocha frosting.
We had the cousins over for dinner so the cup was not going to be big enough, enter the Homer Simpson donut. Sydney decided on the wording for the cake.



We love birthday's! Blowing out candles is always a high point!

Party day

We had Akiva's first birthday party today and like all first birthday parties in our household, it was a big one! I think Akiva knew this day was all about him. His cake was a huge success. I think he liked his cake also! If I can figure out how to get the video on to the computer I might actually post a video of him and his cake!

I have to tell you I am disappointed that he did not dive into his "smash" cake. The big kids were more than willing to help him and give him pointers but he was not biting.
He did show more interest in the cake after we gave him a fork, he is his father's son! No dirty hands for Akiva!

Minnie's party

Today was Jordan's birthday party or should I say Minnie's party. Jordan has made it clear that she IS MINNIE MOUSE. I think Minnie had fun at her party. We had entertainment in the form of Miss Carolyn, the girls music teacher, lots of chocolate(which I made myself, with a little help from Matt)and cake.The picture may not be great but the cake looked like Minnie and Jordan was thrilled with her MINNIE!!! cake.
She is such a big girl that she did not need any help blowing out her candles (or eating her chocolate covered pretzel).

The kids loved playing with the instruments.

The weather cooperated and the kids even got to play outside and enjoyed the "cool" November day.
It is incredible to see how she has grown in the last two years. It feels like just yesterday she was crawling around on the floor chasing after her big sisters. I hope little miss Minnie enjoyed her birthday party!

Happy Birthday Jordan Toes!!!

My baby is two today. I can not believe she is such a big girl. She is not a baby anymore and she is not afraid to tell you about it!
At two Jordan speaks in complete sentences, asks "WHY??" about every little thing, names colors, laughs at her own jokes, and thinks that Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy are her very best friends who love her as much as she loves them. Jordan eats everything and anything under the sun, terrorizes her big sisters and loves her baby brother.
Jordan is a genuinely happy little girl whose entire body lights up when she smiles or laughs. She can spend the better part of the day on the phone talking to her very best friend, Minnie Mouse, and is genuinely insulted when her sisters do not want to talk to her. When there happens to be a live person on the other end of the line, she is in her element answering questions, telling them about her day (especially if we have gone to the Disney store), and giving kisses. Today after talking to Uncle Danny, she looked up at me and said "Uncle Danny said happy birthday to ME, Minnie!!" I can not tell you how it made her day to come running to the phone to talk to her cousins while they wished her a very happy birthday.
Watching her face while they sang "Happy Birthday" to her in the restaurant tonight was a real treat, she was so excited! I'm glad she got her ice cream first because earlier she was talking about her "Minnie cake". She thoroughly enjoyed her birthday, including the presents that were waiting for her when we came home. She dove into those like a big kid also. Not willing to except help from her eagerly waiting sisters. All the while singing "Happy Birthday to ME!"
Jordan has grown up in an instant right in front of our very eyes. Wasn't it just yesterday she was our baby?

Happy birthday Grandma & Danny

October is a very busy month for birthdays. We celebrated Grandma and Danny's birthday on Sunday. It is really nice having a lot of family around for celebrations. It is always a party!
And we know the kids love to party.
They all loved the cake (even though I did not make it!).

Pincess party

We celebrated the girls birthday on Sunday with a few friends. I am tired of huge birthday parties where I am so busy running around that I do not get to enjoy my friends. I am also tired of cooking for days in advance and worrying about all the things that go along with having a great kid's party. I was extremelly laid back in my planning this year. I did not order balloons and t-shirts until the Wednesday before the party. My husband, who knew the girls were having a princess party, was surprised when I wanted balloons and t-shirts in a hurry. After more than a dozen e-mails while I was out and about, thanks to my handy new i-phone, I apparently signed some art approval which said: "Hear ye, hear ye a great time was had by all at Sydney and Lior's Pincess party!" and that is how the balloons were printed. Of course we did not realize that the balloons had a misprint until all the balloons were blown up and of course my wonderful, loving and compassionate husband told me it was my fault that he misspelled princess. He reminded me that I sent back an art approval so he was in the clear. Thank goodness the t-shirts were made with different art or they would have said pincess also.
This party was small and we had a great time!
The kids all jumped in the pool and played in the sprinklers while some of the adults watched and prayed that the water did not drench us from head to toe. Matt had a blast tossing any child who would let him. Sydney had fun swimming from one side of the pool to the other.
Lior is a big fish now, so a pool party was right up her alley.
Jordan had a great time floating on her own.We even had some adults who went into the pool with the little guys who were too little to be in the pool by themselves.



After all the fun in the pool everyone came in for princess cake. The princess cake that I must have worked on for about ten hours and was torn apart in less than thirty seconds and that the girls loved.
I had a ton of fun decorating this cake. I fear that they are going to get more and more elaborate every birthday because I learn something new every time I create one.
I hope that the girls do not expect a princess cake created by their mother for their school party because I am done until October. They are going to have to make due with a store bought Disney Princess cake from the Kosher bakery. That cake I ordered about two weeks ago and I am willing to bet that it wont say pincess anywhere on it.
