Matt Ferberized Akiva and he slept through the night last night! The first night was the worst and each night has gotten progressively better. He is such a good baby! I am trying to get him on a better napping schedule as well. Right now he grabs a nap here and there but does not have a fixed time where he sleeps in his crib.
I get the girls to nap most of the time at one in the afternoon. Akiva generally nurses at that time and falls asleep with me while I nurse him. If I get up he gets up. He needs to sleep in his crib and get a good solid nap. It is just hard because he has no choice but to go with the flow and we are always on the move. My goal is to get this poor kid on a schedule before he can walk or stand in the crib. When they can stand in the crib, everything changes because then they will just stand there and scream at you when everyone just wants to sleep.

Ostrich
I think I am an ostrich. Aren't they the animals that put their heads in the sand? I could be one. I try not to look around my house so I can not see the clutter everywhere. I avoid looking at the bank balance for fear I might see how broke we are and when the kids are screaming I feel like putting my head under a pillow or my head in the sand like an ostrich.
Recently I came to the realization that there was absolutely no way we could afford to send Jordan to school this year. It is just too expensive. If we want to keep the girls in their extra activities, like the Little Gym, Jordan has to take one for the team and stay home with me. Poor Jordan, I hope she does not get tired of me!
I have been trying to find some kids her own age for her to have play dates with. Last week at the gym she made friends with a boy four months younger although he looked four months older than her. They were so cute holding hands as they jumped off mats and ran around. Jordan even kissed him goodbye! I think I will go put my head in the sand now!

Night one
It is time for some tough love for our son and it started last night. He needs to sleep through the night and Matt is just the man to make that happen. Akiva slept in his room last night for the first time. The only problem was that he woke up at one thirty in the morning looking for some attention. Since I am such a warm, loving and nurturing parent in the middle of the night I rolled over and turned off the monitor and went back to sleep. Matt yelled at me "Debbie! He is a baby" (something I must have said a thousand times before) and got up out of bed and tried to give him a bottle of water. When that did not work he Ferberized our youngest child. He went upstairs after five minutes of crying, ten minutes later he went again, and twenty minutes he went again and gave him a toy that had a tag. That tag wound up in Akiva's mouth and he fell asleep, waking up at six for some breakfast. I am sure that Akiva will cry again tonight and I am sure my wonderful husband will treck up and down the stairs hoping and praying that Akiva finds the tag on that stuffed toy!

Akiva is just getting bigger and cuter by the second. I know I am completely biased because I am his mother but it is true. He is just a beautiful baby!

Camping out under the bed.
Lior told me she did not want to sleep under the bed but Sydney made her. I find that hard to believe, they were having way too much fun.
I was surprised Sydney slept under the bed the entire night.
She usually gets back into bed after Lior falls asleep.
It is all matt's fault
If Matt had erased all of the pictures from the camera last night you would be looking at a picture of Sydney and Lior right now and laughing your a$$es off! I am far too tired to wait for the camera and the computer to sort through over two hundred pictures to determine which ones are duplicates. So the pictures of Sydney and Lior sleeping under Sydney's bed will have to wait until tomorrow.
Also waiting until tomorrow are the pictures of Akiva sitting unattended and sleeping upstairs, alone for the very first time. Way to go Matt! It is a good thing we love you!
