Party time
We had Jordan's birthday party today. It was a great, there was a bounce house and the kids played on the swings. There was a nice cool breeze so it was not too hot which is always something to worry about in South Florida. The food was gone in a flash and everyone said it was good. I took one hundred and seventy one pictures of all the festivities, hopefully I was able to catch Jordan having fun on her big day.
Jordan was not sure about the crowds of people and clung to us for the majority of the day. She was fine as long as she did not see me but when she saw her mom walk by she wanted to be held by me. She allowed her uncle Mike to hold her for awhile, he had not seen her since she was a tiny baby and it was great that he was able to come and help her celebrate the big day.
Her uncle Mark also made it but I never got a picture of him with one of the girls.
The cake was a great big hit and I am thrilled. I had so much fun making the cake, I can't wait to make another one!
The big girls helped Jordan blow out her candles and make a wish. Jordan did not want to touch her cake, she ripped the table cloth and tried to eat that but wanted no part of the "smash cake" I made for her to dive into. She liked the dog biscuit but that was about it, until the fruit hit the table and then she went to town on the fruit. Matt thinks she ate an entire watermelon and a ton of grapes. I think she sat at the dining room table talking to our friend James for about thirty minutes while she ate all that fruit.
After all of our guests left the big girls helped Jordan open all of her wonderful gifts. She got some really great toys and beautiful outfits but of course she liked the boxes and bows the best! The big girls enjoyed ripping into all the presents and thought that they hit the jackpot when Jordan got a baby doll set, little do they know that the box is now safely in my closet so that Jordan can play with it when she is ready.
I hope a great time was had by all, I know that we all had a great time helping Jordan celebrate her first birthday. I can not wait to see what the next year has in store for us! Happy birthday Jordan toes, we love you!
